Sustainability
For the last ten years we've been working with experts in the field of sustainability to chart a path towards closing the product lifecycle.
Like many brands, we've adoped recycled materials and insulations wherever possible, and removed PFAS and PFC coatings.
As we dive deeper into our supply chain and sourcing, we aim to be as transparent as possible, constantly looking for ways we can reduce our impact on the planet.
We still have a long way to go.
Our principles.
1. Put the planet first. 2. Form follows function. 3. Reduce, re-use, recycle. 4. Only make what is needed.
Crafted with the planet in mind.
-
DESIGN FOR DURABILITY
We use the highest quality fabrics, trims and parts we can find, whilst our experience making high performance products for over 30 years gives us the ability to design to reduce wear and know where we need to reinforce to increase lifespan.
-
RECYCLED FABRICS + INSULATION
Whenever possible, our fabrics and insulation materials are sourced from recycled raw materials from sources as close to the factory as possible. This is essential to avoid the carbon impact from shipping long distances, negating benefits.
-
PFAS-FREE + PFC-FREE
We've been removing so called 'forever plastics' from our products from the beginning - over 7 years. We are also working with our suppliers to ensure transparency and to eradicate all uses of PFAS.
-
END-OF-LIFE RECYCLING
In an industry first, we are committed to taking back our products at the end of their useful life, and finding ways to reuse them either through repair and donation, or recycle the raw materials to return to the supply chain.
-
FSC-CERTIFIED PAPER PRODUCTS
All our paper products - boxes, hangtags, printed documents etc are FSC certified, ensuring they are made from sustainable forests.
-
REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS
We are looking into every part of our supply and logistics chain to reduce carbon emissions wherever possible - prioritising low-emission partners, shifting to solar and hydro power for factories and offices.
-
REDUCING WATER USE + CONTAMINATION
One of our most challenging projects is to reduce water usage and wastage. We are exploring the use of alternative dyes and plastic colour impegranation pre-weaving to remove water use entirely.
-
PEOPLE, COMMUNITY + CULTURE
We are part of a global outdoor culture, sharing common values and respect for each other and the freedom we find in the mountains. We are diverse, inclusive, expressive, adventurous, creative... and hopeful.
